The Brush Area Museum and Cultural Center is located in the old Knearl School Building. Named in honor of William "Billy" Knearl who donated the land for the school, its construction was completed in 1910. After 61 years of service the school was closed. It is located on its original site in what is now the scenic VFW Memorial Park. In 1996, the City of Brush gifted the building to the Museum and in 1999, Knearl School was opened as the Brush Area Museum and Cultural Center.
